ARCHITECTURAL PRESERVATION AND VALORIZATION

Design for the built heritage addresses complex issues related to the relationship between the old and the new, knowledge, prevention, preservation, enjoyment, enhancement and maintenance of existing architecture. The design process must be carried out in a coherent, coordinated and programmed manner, aware that it can only provide effective and operational results through the involvement of multiple skills (historiographic, geomatic, structural, compositional, technological, plant engineering). The aim of all these disciplines is the safeguard of the object that is the subject of the intervention, without renouncing its return to use.
This is precisely what the thematic area is concerned with, as it is able to address (through a coordinated interdisciplinary process) the problems of the recovery of the built heritage, using the same methodological approach also and above all for the construction of “margins” (industrial, artisanal, agricultural) in an advanced state of degradation and abandonment.
