The Architectural Design research area of the Unesco Research Lab develops projects and research as means and methods of open exploration of the problems of architecture and the contemporary city.

Through a ‘Research by Design’ approach of the research and teaching studio, URLab researchers, professors and doctoral students at the Mantua Campus develop works as a form of research and teaching, which refine critical and historical awareness within the practice of design and other disciplines involved, and increasing awareness of issues related to the enhancement of heritage, civic space and the environment.
