HERITAGE BIM
HBIM (Heritage Building Information Modeling) is the application of the BIM methodology to built assets and architectural cultural heritage. The management of an asset for its conservation, maintenance, or for the design of new interventions (plants, structures or architectural changes) can be facilitated and organized through BIM technologies and practices.
Exploiting high-quality 3D survey data, HBIM model represents the appearance of the existing historic asset, where each modelled building element can contain unique information about its history, materials and state of conservation. This creates a database of information which is a great framework for collaborative work and sharing of data across multi-disciplinary teams. In fact it can be useful for many purposes, like knowledge management and the consequent planning of interventions over time.
