Polimi scientific coordinators: Andrea Adami, Daniele Treccani

Oganized by: University of West Attica; Municipality of Pogoni

Partners: Politecnico di Milano, National Technical University of Athens, Ionian University, Aristotele University of Tessalonikki

Project year: 2024

The “SCANNER WORKSHOP” took place in Pogoni, Greece, gathering experts and students from six universities. Over seven days, 22 participants from seven countries (Brazil, Greece, Italy, USA, China, Poland, and Cyprus) documented historic stone bridges using advanced geomatic techniques such as laser scanning, drones (UAS), and photogrammetry.

Located in the Epirus region, Pogoni is rich in history and cultural heritage. The workshop combined technical training with interdisciplinary exchange, involving specialists in HBIM, surveying, and geodesy, as well as a museology expert who explored reuse and storytelling aspects.

This initiative strengthened academic networking, offered hands-on experience, and promoted the discovery of a lesser-known Greek region. Given its success, the “SCANNER WORKSHOP” will be held again in 2025 for a second edition, continuing to foster collaboration and innovation in heritage documentation.
